Johnny Perri says over a million dollars in jewels and coins are up for grabs when he releases the clues on August 1.

In a publicity stunt for his jewelry store in Macomb County to be sure, but Perri says he and his wife went "through waterfalls, streams, we kayaked everywhere," in an effort to hide the valuables, which you can hunt by, of course, buying a treasure map from him.

Perri told FOX 2 News the idea for the hunt came to him while being locked down in the pandemic.

He and his wife, Amy, claim they've hid one million dollars worth of precious metals and jewels in dozens of spots throughout the state, ranging from metro Detroit to the Upper Peninsula.

The first prize, $4200 in silver bars, goes up for grabs on August 1. It will cost you $49 to get a treasure map. No word if that prize allows you access to all the maps, or just the first one.

"You follow the riddle, you got a little wit, a little adventure in you, you'll find it quick - I don't expect it to go more than a week," he told FOX 2.
