What I call “laughin’ and scratchin’, I’ve been doing a long time. I grew up in Chicago, and the long and winding road of radio brought me to Kalamazoo in January of ‘87. Had an awful lot of fun at one special radio station, next door, but like Tom Brady, let’s see what we can do here. Both my sons were born here. Michael lives here and is a long time Rocker listener, and David is now living the dream in Chicago, hoping to be a comedy writer. Proud to say they're my best friends, as is the love of my life, Kathy, the hottest woman alive.
Here’s the Best Thing Detroit Lions Fans Can See During This Bye Week
Right now is a good time for the Detroit Lions to have a bye week. After all the introductory press conferences before the season started, with talk of biting knee caps and the like, this season has been like a pinprick to a balloon. So, here's some video from the olden days: 1991. (It's practically a miracle that it's in color) Somebody posted the highlights to the last Lions playoff win, from 1991 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Don’t Eat These Michigan Grown Baneberry ‘Doll’s Eyes’. They Can Kill You
I saw some baneberries on Facebook. They're the most interesting-looking berries. They look like marshmallow popsicles. And they're known as 'doll eyes". But more like Chuckie's doll eyes in the Child's Play movies. And, yes, they can kill you.
Michigan’s Alice Cooper Films New Ad With Ohio’s Baker Mayfield
Just the idea of Alice Cooper doing a commercial with Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield sounds like it could be funny. Add to that, that it's not a Flo and her co-workers ad and that makes it even more promising, as you know we'll be subjected to these probably throughout the entire upcoming football season. This is the third season for the Mayfield-centered commercials, and one story says they are award winning.
The Most Amazing Walgreen’s You’ll Ever See Is A Short Drive Away
Reinvention is an amazing thing. I grew up in Chicago, and my one son lives about six blocks from an amazing reinvention/repurposing. Walgreen's, trying to fit into a gentrified neighborhood, took over a former bank building, and rather than tear down some classic architecture, fit their pharmacy into the existing structure. And it's quite amazing.

A private fireworks celebration in Novi, Michigan went horribly wrong Sunday night. The medical examiner in Novi says mortar shell tipped slightly and exploded into the chest of Matiss Kivlenieks. Fun Photos Capture Love of Couple and Their Love of Hot ‘N Now
If this photo shoot was classic literature, it might be called "Love Among the Burgers (and Fries)". But at a time where there's been little to smile about, here's something that will give you reason to not only smile, but to get hungry.
