Grand Rapids has more than seven craft breweries within the city limits alone.

But how could you possibly hit them all without a designated driver?

That's where Beer City Runner comes in!

Beer City Runner is a recent start-up venture created by local electrician Chris Myers who was inspired to create the business after seeing similar but pricier beer tours have success in Grand Rapids.

The shuttle is intended to give out-of-town visitors and casual brewery-goers a safer and cheaper alternative to driving from location to location."

For just $8, you can purchase a pass online at beercityrunner.com, which gets you an unlimited number of rides from brewery to brewery throughout the entire night.

Starting this Friday, Myers' 14-seat passenger van, the aptly named Hoptimus Prime, will run from 5 p.m.-1 a.m. on Fridays and 12 p.m.-1 a.m. on Saturdays, stopping at Founders, Mitten Brewing Company, Elk Brewing, Harmony Brewing Company, Brewery Vivant, Grand Rapids Brewing Co. and HopCat.

Sundays are available for reserved tours.

If all goes well (and I hope it does), Myers hopes to add more buses and possibly additional tour routes.
