In a press conference held Wednesday morning, Montgomery County District Attorney-Elect Kevin Steele announced that an arrest warrant has been issued for Bill Cosby.

Cosby is charged with criminal sexual assault stemming from an alleged incident where he drugged and sexually assaulted former Temple University employee Andrea Constand in 2004.

That statute of limitations to charge Cosby in this case runs out in January.

Cosby had previously spoken out, saying that what occurred between himself and Constand was consensual . Constand says that she was in a relationship with a woman at the time, and is gay.

As of now, more than 50 women have stepped forward claiming that Cosby either drugged or sexually assaulted them or both. Cosby has denied all of the allegations.

Two weeks ago, Cosby filed defamation lawsuits against several of his accusers. Those women have filed their own defamation lawsuits against Cosby.

If convicted, 78-year-old Cosby faces 10 years in prison.
