Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band announced this morning they will hit the road in support of Seger’s first new studio album in eight years, "Ride Out," with a tour supporting it opening in mid-November in Michigan with a Dec. 9 date at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.

Also appearing in Grand Rapids with Seger & The Silver Bullet Band is The J. Geils Band.

"Ride Out," Seger's first studio album in eight years, is being released Oct. 14.

The tour is to be Seger’s most extensive since his 2006-7 Face The Promise Tour and his first since 2011.

Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band kick off The "Ride Out" Tour on Nov 18 at Saginaw's The Dow Event Center. There is also a Dec. 11 date at United Center in Chicago.

The J. Geils Band is appearing in select markets on the tour.

Tickets for the first leg of the tour go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 4 on Ticketmaster and Live Nation.

Bob Seger Bullet Club fan club members get special access to purchase tickets in advance starting 10 a.m. Oct. 1. To become a member of the club, visit Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band's website.

"Ride Out" is Seger's first studio album since the platinum-selling "Face the Promise," and can be pre-ordered on Amazon. It was preceded by Seger’s cover of John Hiatt’s "Detroit Made." The album also includes Seger’s take on ‘California Stars’ by Wilco and Billy Bragg.

Seger has debuted several originals from "Ride Out" in performances in concert over the past few months, including "All of the Roads," "You Take Me In" and "Gates of Eden." "Face the Promise" had marked the end of lengthy break following 1995′s "It’s a Mystery."

A suburban Detroit native from Lincoln Park, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee is 69 years old.
