With the temps warming up, you might be inclined to cool off with a cold one. Brewery Vivant has introduced a new beer to support Grand Rapids' Parks. The brewery is teaming up with Friends of Grand Rapids Parks and releasing a new seasonal ale.

The new springtime ale with lemon peel and French Saison yeast is now available for a limited time. The beer is called "It’s Park Saison". It's 5% alcohol by volume and is available on tap and in cans at Brewery Vivant, 925 Cherry St. The cost is $6 for a 16 ounce can and $13 for a four-pack of them.

Brewery Vivant plans to make a donation to Friends of Grand Rapids' Parks from the beer sales. The money will help the parks with park beautification, volunteer park stewards, the free Movies in the Park summer series and more.

Stephanie Adams, executive director of Friends of Grand Rapids Parks told Mlive,

"Parks and green spaces are for all, and we wanted the beer to reflect that. We hope the community feels a sense of connection to this project."

The can has a park friendly theme with words like "plant trees,” “build parks” and “get outside" etched on it. Grand Rapids-based illustrator and designer Piper Adonya created the can design.

Adams added,

"Utilizing Brewery Vivant’s platform in Beer City is a phenomenal opportunity to not only celebrate the vibrancy of our city’s amazing parks, but also of its people.”

Brewery Vivant opened in 2010 and have supported Friends of Grand Rapids Parks since, including planting dozens of trees. Friends of Grand Rapids Parks’ mission is to empower people to cultivate vibrant parks, green space and trees in the community.
