Calvin University is Michigan's hidden jewel when it comes to bang for your education buck.

The school, located along the East Beltline near Reeds lake, made the top five of Michigan 'Best Colleges and Universities'. Another GR college, Aquinas, also made the list, coming in at 8th.

WalletHub compiled the data as part of their annual survey of the best schools in the country as the deadlines creep up for college selection for high school seniors. Application deadline for Fall Semester 2021 is November 1.

To help college-bound seniors choose the best schools within their states, WalletHub compared over 1,000 higher-education institutions in the U.S. based on 30 key measures grouped into seven categories, such as Student Selectivity, Cost & Financing and Career Outcomes. The data set ranges from student-faculty ratio to graduation rate to post-attendance median salary.

The Top Ten Michigan Colleges and Universities, according to WalletHub are:

2. Michigan Technological University

3. University of Michigan-Dearborn

4. Albion College

5. Calvin University

6. University of Detroit-Mercy

7. Michigan State University

8. Aquinas College

9. Hope College

10. Kettering University-Flint
