This had to be a scary situation! On Friday afternoon, a car crashed through a brick wall at Shawmut Hills Elementary School.

According to Fox 17, the vehicle rammed into the school's north side as students were about to be dismissed for the day.

It's reported the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the school's kitchen. She was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

No students were injured.

Grand Rapids Public Schools tells Fox 17 that Shawmut Hills Elementary School's kitchen will be closed for the rest of the school year while it is repaired. Nutrition Services will be distributing meals for the remainder of the school year.

The school is located at 2550 Burritt St NW.

Wood TV 8 reports that Grand Rapids Fire Department, Grand Rapids Public Schools Public Safety, and Grand Rapids Police Department were all on scene and are investigating the incident.

Shawmut Hills Elementary School will be open on Monday.
