The portrait of Abe Lincoln that hung in the Amway Grand won the ArtPrize popular vote, and if you'd like to teach yourself how to do it, you can, simply by searching YouTube.

A drone light show over the Grand River was quite impressive, and as far as I can tell, was a part of ArtPrize 9. But I'm not sure what category it fit into.

Hacksmith, an online artist and inventor who seeks to get kids interested in science and math, talks about his piece at ArtPrize 9, which if Hacksmith's math is correct, will stop moving 10,000 years from now.

This may be the year of BIG at ArtPrize, but there's a place downtown that may be the smallest venue at ArtPrize.

Mark Mothersbaugh is more than the pioneer of one of the seminal bands of the late '70s. He's also a visual artist, sculptor and one of the top movie soundtrack performers in Hollywood. He spoke at the ArtPrize 8 Hub Wednesday night, and told some great stories about art, the theory of de-evolution and being at the cusp of a new music movement that jump started the '80s.

In addition to the 'Michigan Rocks' mural on the West Side, ArtPrize entries at other venues honor the glory era of the musical past as well. Two other artists have painted tributes to Bob Dylan and Prince.

ArtPrize8 is underway and people are exploring the city looking at the different art pieces and installations, but you might also spot a fun family project Aaron and his 6 kids spent a year putting together. Aaron and his 3 older kids have been painting rocks, leaves and sticks for a while now, leaving them around town and their neighborhood as just a side project to bring smiles to the people who

A West Michigan artist has honored Michigan's lengthy Rock'N Roll tradition with six foot by six foot mural on the west side.

It's safe to say that one ArtPrize Artist stands out as the most unique artist in the competition.  Dartagnan Little is a convicted felon who created his entry while behind bars.  "America" was crafted at Baraga Correctional Facility, where Little resides due to an attempted murder and sexual assault conviction in 1987...

ArtPrize 8 kicks off today and police are urging the hundreds of thousands people visiting to use caution and common sense while walking around exploring the art. There are 1,400 exhibits at around 170 locations throughout the downtown area...
