Okay I know it's hot, 80+ degrees expected again today, but it is October and fall, and we know that winter is next in line with snow and all that stuff. But do we really want to think about snow just yet?
We're pretty used to setting weather records here in Michigan. Record rain, record snow, record wind, record power outages, and now record heat! Wait a minute, we're talking about record heat in October.
If you happened to hear an earlier forecast for the winter for 2023-24 perhaps it was loaded with dire warnings of frigid temperatures and heavy snow. A revised outlook from the National Weather Service says the opposite for Michigan.
Here in Michigan, we have very little reason to think much about hurricanes so when a Michigan meteorologist posed a question about hurricanes and the equator recently it gave pause and something to ponder.
