Cedar Springs Youth Football League Gets Much Needed Donation
This hasn’t been a good year for the Cedar Springs Youth Football League.
In March, their field was vandalized and then in July, two board members were busted for embezzling all $12,000 from the nonprofit organization. v
Well Saturday, their luck certainly changed when Vanderhyde Ford stopped by and donated $9,000 to the youth football league so their season can start on time.
According to the WZZM 13 story, Vanderhyde Ford decided to put back $100 for every car sold last month to give to the league and ended up raising $9,000.
The dealership told WZZM 13 that the youth league is an institution for the community. With Saturday's donation along with others who donated through a GoFundMe page, which was set up after hearing about the theft from the two board members, the Cedar Springs Youth Football League can pay off their past due bills from the vandalism and now get jerseys for the kids.
It also ensures the football season will start on time even with all the unforeseen setbacks this year.
