The Flint water crisis has grown to the point where it's getting noticed nationally, and even celebrities are starting to chime in on it.

On Tuesday Gov. Rick Snyder declared a state of emergency in Flint over continued problems with lead in the city's drinking water. Federal prosecutors are working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on an investigation into problems with lead in Flint’s water supply.

Tuesday night, Cher took to Twitter to voice her displeasure with both the situation and Gov. Snyder.

In 2014, the city of Flint switched from using Detroit’s water system to Flint River water as a cost-cutting move, while under state financial management. Residents complained about the water’s taste, smell and appearance and kids in Flint were found to have elevated levels of lead in their systems.

Last week, Gov. Snyder apologized and Michigan’s top environmental regulator resigned his position.
