Long outspoken about the Flint water crisis, Cher is now set to star in a Lifetime movie about it.

Deeadline reports that Cher will also executive produce the project, along with Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, and Katie Couric.

The film, titled Flint, was inspired by Time Magazine's story about the crisis “The Toxic Tap”, published in February of last year.

Deadline describes the film as a  "hard-hitting fact-based drama" that will "shed light not only on the politics and poor management that led to the poisoning of the water, but also the human element of the residents who not only suffered but whose voices were ignored."

Flint is expected to begin filming in the spring.

I wonder who'll they'll tap to play Governor Snyder?
