From the album Sleeping with the Past, the song describes a night on the town between two lovers at a disclosed nightclub. John also describes about the music of Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye being played. An interesting note is the video for the song was animated, due to Elton's involvement with the family of AIDS victim Ryan White. The record company demanded a video, but Elton was dedicated to spending time with Ryan. The single was a top 30 hit in the US in the summer of 1990. In Denmark, where the album was recorded, it hit #1 for two weeks and is still seen as one of Elton's biggest hits in that country.

The music video was produced by Animation City, an animation company in London, England and directed by Derek Hayes. It followed the success of the recent Madonna video, "Dear Jessie" by the same company.

#28 Back in 89, how about today?
