Despite Rumors, Detroit’s ‘RoboCop’ Statue Won’t Be Unveiled Today

You may be wondering, “Why does anyone need at 10-foot-tall bronze "RoboCop" statue?”

The answer is: I don’t know.

Media outlets were reporting that today Imagination Station Detroit would unveil its 10-foot-tall, bronze statue of RoboCop.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be “logistically impossible” to unveil the statue today.

However, Robocop is touring downtown Detroit today before throwing out the first pitch at the Tigers game tonight at 7 p.m.

According to the statue’s Facebook page a more public, permanent location for the statue will be announced in the near future and an induction ceremony/celebration will follow.

Imagination Station Detroit created a Kickstarter to raise $50,000 to build a life-size Robocop statue and was successfully funded back in March. Why?
