Would you like to own your own lighthouse? Well now is your chance because 3 are going up for auction.

According to WOOD, the federal government own three historic lighthouses on the Great Lakes and no longer want them so they will be up for auction for some lucky bidders.

One lighthouse is located 6 miles east of Cheboygan, Michigan and goes by the name of Lake Huron's Poe Reef lighthouse.

The second lighthouse is in Michigan's Upper Peninsula that is at the entrance to the channel heading in to the Ontonagon River out of Lake Superior. That lighthouse is call the Ontonagon Breakwater lighthouse.

The third lighthouse that will be on the auction block is sitting on a sandbar between Superior, Wisconsin, and Duluth, Minnesota. This lighthouse is known at the Superior Entry.

The good news is, if you do decide to purchase a lighthouse the U.S. Coast Guard will continue to maintain and own the lighting mechanisms to aid boats in their travel so keep that in mind while making your bid.

All the money the comes in from the auctions will be used to preserve and maintain those lighthouses that remain active.
