Grand Rapids is getting mythological this fall as "Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids" comes to town!

The Grand Rapids Public Museum has announced a new exhibit titled "Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids" will open on November 11!

The exhibit is organized by the American Museum of Natural History in New York. It traces the natural and cultural roots of dragons, unicorns and mermaids.

If you think Game of Thrones is a documentary you'll find plenty to fuel your fire at this exhibit.

There will be replicas of preserved specimens as well as cast fossils of prehistoric animals. You'll learn how they could have, through misidentification, speculation, and fear, inspired centuries of imagination...or maybe you'll be convinced it's all real after all.

There will be many hands-on opportunities including a chance to build your own dragon on a touch-screen.
