After being closed for more than a year, Farah's bar at 710 Michigan Street NE in Grand Rapids is set to reopen Monday, January 6th.

Brian Farah shared the news on Facebook saying the bar at will open at 11am on Monday, and much of the previous staff are planning to return.

Initially opening in January 2010, Farah's Bar closed in July of 2018, following the owners being sentenced to prison for tax fraud. Brian Farah and his father Michael Farah also had to pay a $5,000 fine each, and a combined $237,576.50 in restitution

Previously the Farahs owned two other bars in addition to Farah's: Kuzzin's on Grand Rapids west side and Drake's in Wyoming.

Those establishments were purchased by Third Coast Development in August of 2017. Wood TV 8 reported Third Coast also had interest in Farah's, but the owners decided to keep it and even planned an expansion.
