‘Fast and Furious 7’ Super Bowl Trailer Airs [Video]
A ‘Fast and Furious’ Super Bowl trailer is almost as much of a tradition as the halftime show at this point. OK, maybe not quite that much, but the past two ‘Fast and Furious’ movies have had their ads, and now ‘Fast and Furious 7’ is here to follow up on that tradition. There are a lot of car commercials during the Super Bowl, but this is THE car commercial.
This new trailer gets into a little bit more of the plot than the teaser—the “sins of London” are coming back to haunt them, in the form of Jason Statham—and gets into a lot more of the action. Every ‘Fast and Furious’ movie needs one showstopper scene, and this one looks to be the one where Vin Diesel drives his car out the window of one skyscraper and through the window of another nearby skyscraper. With a giant explosion and Jason Statham firing a machine gun behind him.
Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of ‘Fast and Furious 7’. James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey, Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell.
‘Fast and Furious 7’ opens in theaters on April 3.
