Last year for most towns there were no fireworks for the Fourth of July, but this year that is changing and Grandville is the next city to announce a fireworks celebration.

I think this year we have more reasons to celebrate, one, the pandemic kept us all locked up, two, a lot has happened with the pandemic as well as politically that we all need another reason to celebrate for ourselves and our country.

According to FOX 17, thanks to the restrictions being lifted for outdoor gatherings, several of Grandville's Fourth of July celebrations will be back, including everyone's favorite, the fireworks that will happen Monday, July 5.

While most city's Fourth of July celebration sometimes only revolves around a fireworks display, Grandville is one Michigan city that goes the extra mile to celebrate the holiday.

Now that outdoor restrictions have be waived by the state, it looks like the full party is back on in Grandville. Events like the 5K race are back on July 3rd. The Patriotic Trail will now return July 1-5. Baseball and softball games will be held on July 3rd. The flag raising will return to Wedgwood Park July 5th. There will be a WWII flyover with vintage aircraft July 5th. Food vendors and entertainment will be at Grandville Middle School July 5th and of course the Fireworks are back on July 5th.

There were a few events that didn't return this year because they were canceled well before the restrictions were lifted for outdoors but be sure the annual pancake breakfast will return in 2022. Other events that will be back in 2022 like the parade, craft show and penny carnival.
