Veterans Day is an official United States public holiday. It is observed annually on November 11 to honor military veterans -- people who served in the United States Armed Forces. (Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day...Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day honors those who died while in military service.)

Along with all of us who want to thank our Veterans for serving our country, there are a number of businesses who offer up special deals on Veterans Day to show their appreciation to our veterans and active duty military personnel for their service to our country. There may be other discounts and freebies out there, but these were the ones I could confirm. If you click on the name of the business, you can see the offer details.

Applebee's -- Veterans and active-duty military receive a free meal when dining in from a special menu on Thursday, November 11th. Military guests will also receive a $5 bounce back card to redeem for dine-in, To Go or delivery within three weeks.

Black Rock Bar & Grill -- Veterans receive a free steak dinner on November 11. The dinner includes Black Rock's award-winning Certified Angus Beef ® steak, cooked on a 755-degree volcanic sizzling rock at your table.The offer is available to dine-in guests only and includes a side.

Bob Evans -- The restaurant will be offering a special menu of seven homestyle favorites available to veterans and active duty military for FREE on November 11. Dine-in only.

Chili's -- Veterans and active-duty service members get a free meal from a select menu on November 11th. Available for in-restaurant only.

Denny's -- Veterans and active military personnel get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam on Thursday, November 11th, from 5 am to 12 Noon. Dine-in only.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit -- Veterans and active-duty military get a Free Pulled Pork Sandwich on November 11th. Valid in-store, and online/app for carryout.

Dunkin' Donuts -- On Thursday, November 11th, veterans and active-duty military can get a free donut at participating locations. Offer available in-store only.

Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers -- Veterans and current military personnel can get a free combo meal comp card that can be used for a Freddy's Original Double combo meal anytime between November 11th-30th, 2021.

Golden Corral -- Golden Corral is once again hosting their Military Appreciation Night on November 11th from 5 pm to close. They have honored active and former military members for over 20 years. This includes a free “thank you” meal when dining in.

IHOP -- Veterans and active-duty military get free Red, White & Blueberry Pancakes at participating locations on Thursday, November 11th. Dine-in only. RSVP on their Facebook page.

MOD Pizza -- You need to act quickly on this one... Enter online before November 8 to receive an offer for a buy one MOD-size pizza or salad, get one MOD-size pizza or salad free. Offer valid only on Thursday, November 11th in-store, in-app or at www.modpizza.com.

Red Lobster -- Veterans, active-duty military and reservists get a free appetizer or dessert from a special menu on November 11th. Dine-in only.

Red Robin – Veterans and active-duty military who are Red Robin Royalty members can redeem a free Red's Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries from November 1st through November 14th for dine-in or to-go. (To get this offer, you had to register for Red Robin's Royalty Program with military designation by Monday, November 1st.)

Starbucks -- Veterans, military service members and military spouses get a free tall (12 oz.) hot brewed coffee at participating stores on Thursday, November 11th.

TCBY -- This one requires a drive to Muskegon... Veterans and active military personnel get their first 6 oz. of frozen yogurt for free on Thursday, November 11th at participating locations.

Wendy’s -- Active-duty military and veterans get a free breakfast combo on Thursday, November 11th at participating locations from 6:30 to 10:30 am.

White Castle -- Veterans and active-duty military get a free Combo Meal #1 through #6 or Breakfast Combo Meal when dining at a participating restaurant on Thursday, November 11th.

 

Other discounts are also available at some retail locations. Those include:

Bed Bath & Beyond -- Veterans, active duty, and military spouses get 25% off their entire purchase online or in-store November 11th through the 13th.

Dollar General -- Veterans, active-duty military and their families get a 20% discount on in-store and online purchases on November 11th through the 14th.

Great Clips – On Thursday, November 11th, veterans and active military members can visit a U.S. Great Clips salon and receive either a free haircut that day or a free haircut card. In addition, non-military customers who get a haircut on Veterans Day at Great Clips salons can pay it forward. They will receive a free haircut card they can give to an active service member or veteran as a way of saying thank you. The cards can be redeemed for a free haircut from November 12th through December 10th, 2021.

Office Depot and OfficeMax -- Veterans, active-duty military personnel, retirees, reservists and their dependents get 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced purchase in store only from November 11th through the 13th.

Sleep Number -- Military and veteran families receive 20% off all smart beds, all adjustable bases and most bedding with promo code from November 2nd to November 22nd.

Target -- Target is offering a 10% discount from October 31st through November 13th (even longer than previous years) to active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families. This discount can be used on two separate transactions and applies to all in-basket items, online and in-store.

Tractor Supply Company -- Active-duty military, veterans and their dependents get a 15% discount on November 11th.

Walgreens -- On November 11th through 14th, veterans, active-duty military and their families receive 20% off regular price eligible store items at any Walgreens or Duane Reade drugstore nationwide.
