It's June 1st and instead of kicking off the month thinking about our beach bodies, we're kicking it off with doughnuts... and lots of them.

While the first Friday in June is the official holiday for "National Doughnut Day," Krispy Kreme thought why have only a day when you can have an entire week? Especially during these current times, everyone could use something that brings cheer, and I'd say doughnuts definitely do that. Therefore, Krispy Kreme has changed it to "National Doughnut Week." In a press release from the company,

"National Doughnut Day is one of our favorite holidays to celebrate, but with days starting to blur together, we want to make sure it’s easier than ever for fans to participate,” said Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer for Krispy Kreme.

Every day this week, until Friday, you can stop at Krispy Kreme to get any free doughnut of your choice. Yep, that means you can get chocolate with sprinkles, one of their creme-filled doughnuts, or keep it classic with their original glazed doughnut. Doughnuts are limited to one per customer, per day and does not include delivery.

Krispy Kreme is located at 2700 E. Beltline in Grand Rapids.

In case you're curious, according to National Day Calendar, National Doughnut Day has been celebrated since 1938 and "...honors the Salvation Army Lassies, the women that served doughnuts to soldiers during WWI."

Oh, and don't forget to post your pretty doughnut on social media with the hashtag #NationalDoughnutWeek
