Have you ever wanted to rappel down the side of one of Grand Rapids' tallest buildings? Well here is your opportunity to go "Over the Edge" and help out Easterseals Michigan.

I have done this twice in the past (the picture above is me in 2019). It is such an incredible experience.  Imagine stepping off the top of Bridgewater Place and then rappelling 272 feet down the side of the building. You control the speed of your descent back to the ground.

They do a terrific job with this event. From the training to the actual rappelling.

I've often been asked by others how they could get involved...well here is your chance!

"Over The Edge" will take place on Saturday, September 19th. Participants will rappel over Bridgewater Place... a beautiful glass building right along the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids.

The organizers have been working closely with the "Over The Edge" team to maintain social distancing, and sanitizing of all equipment, training and rappel areas. You can't be more social distanced than over 250 feet in the air!

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Easterseals has remained opened, serving all of their clients and loaning their staff to other agencies who needed help. They never closed because or families and clients needed us. Now they need your help.

Please consider signing up and rappelling down the side of Bridgewater Place!

They are also looking for sponsors and volunteers.

For more information on how you can get involved -- whether you want to rappel or not -- check out their website at www.overtheedgewestmi.com.
