Grand Rapids Bakery Shops On National TV!

Last year, my high school friend Jason Kakabaker and his cupcake store "The Cakeabakery" was featured on the Food Network show "Cupcake Wars" While he didn't win, he certainly brought Grand Rapids and West Michigan confectioners' much notoriety.

Now, another Grand Rapids bakery--Propaganda Donuts--was featured on the Cooking Channel's show Donut Showdown. From the Propaganda Donuts Twitter site:

The Division donut shop, which bills itself as "The SKILLED PASTRY CHEF THAT RUNS THE MINISTRY OF PROPAGANDA" Held a watch party Friday night during the show. And it was a big success, since owner and head propagandaist Torrence O’Haire kept his cool and won the big prize of 10 grand! His Chinatown donuts and theme walked away with the cash!

Way to go Torrence! Way to make Grand Rapids proud and keep our national reputation in tact! If you didn't DVR it, the show repeats Sunday at 6pm on Cooking Channel. Stay Hungry!
