If you have been looking to get a free COVID-19 test or a flu shot there will be a drive-thru opportunity in Grand Rapids this Saturday.

With the rising cases of the coronavirus in West Michigan and the fact that many people are ignoring the protocols to keep others safe, it is more important than ever to get tested often to know your own stats.

Even the best of us at social distancing still from time to time in a grocery store, gas station, at home or at work, come in contact with people outside of our bubble and it only takes a second to catch the virus.

According to WOOD, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is stepping up to offer free drive-thru COVID-19 testing and flu shots this Saturday in Grand Rapids. This is a huge help for those without insurance and with the holidays coming up, it would help individuals to know their current status.

The drive-thru will be set up at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at 510 Franklin Street SE in Grand Rapids this Saturday. The hours the drive-thru will be active are from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

For the flu shot, you don't have to register just show up, but those getting the COVID-19 test will need to pre-register online to set up your test. Make sure each person who is getting a test in your car registers individually. Here is a link to get pre-registered.

There are a host of companies that have partnered to make the COVID-19 testing and flu shots possible: Black Impact Collaborative, Blue Cross Complete, Cherry Health, Michigan State University College of Human Services, NAACP Greater Grand Rapids and 411GR.com.
