Grand Rapids Gold Gets Tropical Friday Night
Friday Night at the Deltaplex it's time to get Tropical with a night of "Semi-Pro" Basketball!

Will Ferrell stars in Semi-Pro, a raunchy and outrageous comedy set in 1976 against the backdrop of the maverick ABA a fast-paced, wild and crazy basketball league that rivaled the NBA and made a name for itself with innovations like the three-point shot and slam dunk contest.
Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, a one-hit wonder who used the profits from the success of his chart-topping song "Love Me Sexy" to achieve his dream of owning a basketball team.
Moons franchise, the Flint Michigan Tropics, is the worst team in the league and in danger of folding when the ABA announces its plans to merge with the NBA. If they want to survive, Jackie and the Tropics must now do the seemingly impossible WIN.
Flint Tropics Night
The Grand Rapids Gold is bringing another great night of NBA G-League action against the Delaware Blue Coats on Friday. Friday it's Flint Tropics theme night, the first 500 fans in the door will receive a free rally towel.
There will be specials going on for this theme night, get 2 tickets and 1 t-shirt for $25. It's also a Golden Friday Night which means they'll have $2 beers, $2 hot dogs, $5 Founders Solid Gold, all night long.
They are also auctioning off gear from the Flint Tropics night. You can bid on jerseys from the Gold team between now and Sunday night and all proceeds benefit Will Ferrel’s charity of choice, Cancer for College.
