Grand Rapids Is Considering Adding GPS Trackers To Snow Plows
The city of Grand Rapids has proposed adding GPS trackers to 10 of the snow plows in their fleet. The GPS system will allow for the trucks to better service the city's streets and will also allow residents to track their progress.
A website would be set up that can be accessed by anyone that will show what streets the snow plows have been down so you can plan your commute before you leave your house.
FOX 17 reports that the total cost of the proposed project would be a few thousand dollars to install the GPS systems.
MDOT already has a similar system in place for its fleet, which services freeways, highways, and state roads.
