The annual walk over the six bridges downtown will not be happening on Monday, Labor Day.

The City of Grand Rapids has pulled the plug on the annual walk over the bridges because of construction projects on both the streets and the sidewalks involved in the walk.

It seems to me they could have made this announcement earlier, seeing how the construction has been in progress for awhile now, but so be it.

The Labor Fest will still take place at Ah Nab Awen Park on Monday, and, if you feel like driving up north, the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk is Monday as well. Both of those events will go on as scheduled.
