Yet another study has found that Grand Rapids is ripe with hipsters.

Recently named "One of the Top Hipster Housing Markets in the U.S", GR has just ranked highly on MoveHub's  "U.S Hipster Index".

The scale ranks 150 U.S. cities on 5 indicators of "hipsterdom": The number of microbreweries, thrift stores, vegan restaurants, and tattoo studios per 100,000 city residents, along with rent inflation in the last year.

According to MoveHub, Grand Rapids is the 9th most hipster city in America.

MoveHub says their of their findings:

In our groundbreaking new study, hipster fashion, diet, and vanity were all taken into account as the 150 most populous American cities had their credentials tested. No editorialising here; just data. Pure, bohemian data."

They also provide us with this definition of "hipster":

Hipsters are a subculture of 20- to 30-somethings who position themselves as non-mainstream pioneers; free-thinkers and non-conformist conformists."

Scoring high in microbreweries, thrift stores, and tattoo studios, Grand Rapids got an overall US Hipster Index score of 6.708.
