One Grand Rapids toy company has caused more frowns than smiles after receiving nearly 100 Better Business Bureau complaints over the last few years.

They've caused such a problem; they're now closing their doors and paying fines to make up for the less than happy customers they've created. If you're familiar with Planetary Toys or have had a bad experience with them, you may be owed money.

Grand Rapid's very own Planetary Toys had a lot of different types of complaints on the BBB website, and examples include everything from products never being shipped to items that did not reflect the product descriptions. And with the past two holiday seasons being mostly digital, these complaints ring louder than years before.

Now they're facing the repercussions for their business practices because These complaints led to the company being investigated by the state of Michigan for their business practices.

According to Fox 17 "The attorney general’s office says Planetary Toys has agreed to stop selling toys for five years, refund all customers who filed complaints and pay $1,000 to the state as compensation for investigation expenses by Feb. 21."

But what should you do if you want to avoid being burned by companies like this in the future? The Attorney General's office recommends that you research sellers and their products before making any purchases. If you have any questions or want to learn more, they recommend that you review the attorney general’s office’s resources for more information.
