Grandville Softball Wins 3-2, Advances to LLWS Semifinal on Tuesday

Grandville Softball is heading to the Little League World Series semifinals after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Lincoln Little League, Portland, Oregon!

Entering the bottom of the third, Grandville held a 3-1 lead with their 3 runs coming off of only 1 hit. Portland loaded the bases in the bottom of the third, but Grandville was able to escape by giving up just 1 run after Grandville's Jamie Vander Meer struck out back-to-back hitters with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Only two more Portland runners would reach base over the rest of the game, one by error and one by walk. Grandville won 3-2 and finished with a total of 3 hits.

Grandville will play on ESPN2 at 9:30PM EST on Tuesday, August 16, against the winner of Canada vs. Southwest.

The semifinals will be broadcast live on ESPN2 on Tuesday, August 16 at 7PM EST and 9:30PM EST. The championship game will be on ESPN2 on Wednesday, August 17 at 9PM EST.
