NBC can't get all of the live, televised musicals! After the success of their 'Sound of Music Live!' event last year and their upcoming 'Peter Pan Live!' show, rival network Fox has as announced that they will be producing a three-hour special of 'Grease' live on the air in 2015.

"From Broadway to film, and across generations, 'Grease' is one of the most beloved musical stories ever told – and we can't wait to bring it to our air in a spectacular live event," Fox's senior vice president of event series Shana C. Waterman announced (quote via E! News). "Its iconic characters and addictive songs make it the perfect fit for Fox, and we're going to give it the kind of star power and production quality to make every Sandy, Danny, Rizzo and Kenickie out there want to get up and sing along."

Speaking of the film's iconic characters, the live event has yet to be cast, but will reportedly re-imagine some of the Pink Lady and T-Bird characters, which definitely has the potential to be interesting. That being said, the musical will, of course, still feature the show's classic hits like 'Grease Lightnin'' and 'Summer Nights.'

As great as the potential for a live version of 'Grease' may be, we're wondering how it will fare in comparison to the much-beloved movie, which starred the iconic John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in their prime. That's going to be one tough cast to beat.

PopCrushers, who do you think should play the roles of Danny and Sandy?
