According to Grand Valley State University there are changes coming to Mt. Vernon Ave. GVSU will be turning it into a pedestrian campus.

The university told Fox 17 that the project will include a pedestrian pathway that connects four of their downtown buildings between Fulton and Watson on Pew Campus: the L. William Seidman Center, Winter Hall, Peter F. Secchia Hall and the Bicycle Factory. The redevelopment was approved at a Grand Valley State University board of trustees meeting on Friday, February 26.

It's a $4 million project that is expected to be completed in August. It's being completed by the Strategic Capital Reserve Fund. the plan incorporate plaza areas with art walls, seat walls and recreational space.
