Daryl Hall and John Oates are hitting the road again this summer, announcing a 20-city tour that kicks off in Dallas on May 13.

But it's the way they announced the tour that was a bit weird.

Hall and Oates had the members of the fictional '70s band, the Blue Jean Committee announce their new tour via YouTube, and they did it by insulting the Philly soulsters.

The Blue Jean Committee was originally featured in a year a IFC network mockumentary about a Chicago blues band that moved to California for success, only to find they had to soften their sound to get a hit. The fictional members Clark Honus (Bill Hader) and Gene Allen (Fred Armisen) eventually had a fight on stage that signaled the end of the band's success.

Former Saturday Night Live cast member Armisen, intially created the band for a SNL sketch that aired while he was still on the show, featuring guest Jason Segel as a member and then claiming to be from 'Northhampton, Massachusetts'.

The mockumentary mentioned Hall and Oates as a nemesis for the Committee, hence the duo referring to them as 'jag offs' in the video.

As for Hall and Oates, they will be hitting the road this summer, and they’re bringing Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings and Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue along with them.

The tour hit DTE Theater (I still call it Pine Knob) on July 19, and will visit such cities as Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles, before wrapping September 23rd in Las Vegas. Click here for a complete list of dates.

Next up, Hall & Oates are set to play Madison Square Garden on February 19th, featuring Jones and Hawthorne Mayer.
