The WFGR studios are located right downtown next to Rosa Parks Circle and for the last couple weeks I’ve noticed this Airstream trailer parked right by the Grand Rapids Art Museum.

I thought it was just another food truck, which park outside of the GRAM daily for the lunch rush, but this truck was different.

In bright red letters the side of this Airstream trailer reads: StoryCorps.

So, what is StoryCorps?

It’s actually pretty cool!

StoryCorps has been recording and archiving YOUR stories since 2003.

According to the StoryCorps website:

Each conversation is recorded on a CD to share, and is preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.”

StoryCorps is basically the largest oral history archive project of its kind. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anything like this!

Recording sessions are 40 minutes long and you’re free to share any story you choose!

The StoryCorps trailer is open daily and will be in town until September 5.

Visit the StoryCorps website to schedule your interview or visit the StoryCorps trailer located next to the GRAM to share your story!
