Warmer weather at the end of last week delayed the opening of ice skating at Rosa Parks Circle on Friday.

The City of Grand Rapids announced that ice skating will now begin at the downtown rink at noon on Wednesday, December 4.

Remember, skating is always weather dependent. You can find updates here, by following the rink on Facebook, or by calling 616-456-3699.

On Saturdays this year, kids skate free and there is free hot chocolate 10a.m. to noon!

Daily hours of operation:

  • Monday through Saturday 10a.m - 9:45p.m.
  • Sunday 11a.m. - 8:45p.m.

Admission is $1 for those 17 years old and younger and $3 for adults. Skate rental is included, or you can bring your own. You can pay with credit card, cash, or check, or get a punch card or season pass.

“The ice rink is one of our favorite offerings in the colder months,” said John Judnich, the City’s recreation supervisor in a statement. “We had more than 40,000 visitors last season. We look forward to seeing residents and visitors return for more winter fun at Rosa Parks Circle.”
