Is Pharrell Williams ‘Happy’ Next On Gaye Family’s Lawsuit List? [Video]

Earlier this week, the family of legendary soul singer Marvin Gaye won a huge judgment from Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams when it was determined their song "Blurred Lines" sounded an awful lot like Gaye's "Got To Give It Up."

Now, the Gaye family says Williams' other hit "Happy" sounds familiar, like Marvin's earlier hit "Ain't That Peculiar". 

It's out of the frying pan and into the fire for Williams.

Just hours after taking a hit in the $7.3 million decision against "Blurred Lines," Gaye's daughter, Nona, issued another challenge, this time saying Williams' massive summer hit "Happy" might have also been lifted.

"I'm not going to lie. I do think they sound alike," Nona told CBS of Williams' "Happy" and Gaye's 1965 song "Ain't That Peculiar."

"Peculiar," which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was written by Pete Moore, William "Smokey" Robinson, Bobby Rogers and Marv Tarplin.

"Happy" was a much bigger hit than "Blurred Lines," selling 10 million units nationally.

So is another lawsuit on the way?

No, Nona Gaye said. "We're not in that space yet."
