20 Michigan Beaches in Running for Best in the State

It's no secret the Great Lakes State has awesome beaches! What is the very best beach in Michigan though?

With shoreline on four of the five great lakes and more than 11,000 inland lakes, it's no small task that USA Today has taken on. A new USA Today10Best readers' poll is aiming to find the top beach in the Mitten State.

A panel of experts has narrowed it down to twenty beaches. It's now up to a public vote to determine the top ten!

Michiganders know that from spectacular sunsets, to awe-inspiring dunes, to water sports of all kinds, there's a beach for every taste. Growing up in South Haven, I'm glad to see South Beach is on the list! Another one of my favorites, Oval Beach in Saugatuck is in the running as well.

What's your favorite? Below are the 20 beaches in the running with a link to vote for your beach of choice (click on the name of the beach below each photo). Any beaches you think should have made the cut and didn't?

You can vote once per day until voting ends on Monday, May 20 at noon. The 10 winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 29.

These glorious Michigan locations were chosen by a panel of experts and now it's up to a public vote. You can vote for your favorite once per day through May 20, 2024, at noon.
