I'm sure there are more than 5 ways to piss off someone from Michigan but here are five of the most common.

1. Someone From Down South Complaining Their One Inch of Snow

In Michigan, we get our fair share of snow that is for sure. Definitely, some areas see more than others but the whole state gets its, bad roads, and almost all of us have to do some sort of snow removal.

There is nothing worse than someone down south complaining they got an inch of snow like it's the end of the world, or the temperature is 65 and they are screaming for a winter coat.

2. Have Someone Run Their Mouth Off About Detroit

Look, we live here, and we are all aware of the issues of Detroit. We do not need to be reminded of the city's decline, especially if someone from out of state hasn't visited the downtown in recent years. A lot of steps of been made to begin the revitalization of downtown Detroit and it's getting better. Look it took a hundred years to tear the city down so it's gonna take a few more to build it back up. And if someone from Ohio says something bad about Detroit, just reply with Cleveland, Toledo, Cincinnati, and Columbus.

3. Say Something Bad About Michigan's Craft Beer

It is pretty fair to say that the state of Michigan is the state that has led local craft beers into the mainstream way before other states even knew what craft beer was. Founders, Bell's, Short's, and we can go on here all day long. Grand Rapids has been named "Beer City USA" several times according to USA Today. So please don't brag about the watered-down creek water you drink in other states, and stop calling Michiganders beers snobs because we have better beer than you.

4. Throw Away Michigan Bottles or Cans

Have you been to a state that doesn't have a 5 or 10-cent return on bottles and cans and driven around? The roads are filthy with busted bottles and crushed cans and no one has any desire to pick them up. C'mon, this is Pure Michigan, look at our roads, yes you may see a lot of potholes but at least they are not filled with broken glass and piles of aluminum. Every time a relative or friend from out of state comes to visit they throw all the bottles and cans away and we Michiganders have to fish them out and remind them each time they visit these are worth 10 cents. Especially when we really get our money back when we return them since the stores charge us for the deposit to fund the system.

5. Wear A Freakin' Ohio State Shirt

Michigan Wolverine and Michigan State Spartan players and fans only have one thing in common, and that is their disgust for Ohio State Buckeyes. The last thing anyone in Michigan wants to see is an Ohio State t-shirt of any kind so please leave them at home if you plan to visit the Mitten.
