Memories For a Lifetime

When I was a kid my dad took me hunting and when I was old enough I took the hunter's safety course so I could harvest my own game safely and responsibly.

There is a misconception by non-hunters that hunting is all about shooting game and killing animals and it is far from that.

Hunting is more about the time parents spend with their children or grandparents with their grandkids learning about Michigan's great outdoors. I remember before I could hunt hanging out with my dad training the beagles for rabbit season. All the walking and talking that went on. Being taught to squirrel, rabbit, grouse, and pheasant hunt. Learning about the trees, the brush, the swamps, harvesting game properly, and learning to shoot. Both my dad and I remember getting my first rabbit and how excited I was. I get to teach my son a lot of what my dad taught me and create our memories now that my son has passed his hunter safety course.

Before you can participate in the hunter safety field day course you must first complete the online course.  My son took his online course in one day but you can take your time and do the course in sections if you don't have the time to do it all at once. Here is the link to the Michigan online hunter safety course. You will need to print the certificate at the end of the course and sign it to enter the field day portion of the course.
