Grand Rapids Will Be Changing Over the Next Couple of Years

There are a series of photos that people use when talking about Grand Rapids, Michigan, but over the next couple of years, the photos will have to be updated because the look of the city downtown will be changing once again.

The Acrisure Amphitheater which will hold 12,000 fans will be a part of the downtown landscape as well as a new soccer stadium that will be built in Grand Rapids just down the street. I wonder when all the Grand Rapids venues have an event going on the same night where everyone will park?

Money Finally Approved For Grand Rapids Amphitheater

If you love concerts then "Happy Valentine's Day" because that is when all the money needed to start construction for the amphitheater was finally approved.

According to FOX17, the building of the amphitheater is expected to cost $184 million, and since it has taken so long for all the approvals on the funds the venue will not open in 2025 like it was previously reported but now the goal is to open in 2026. West Michigan will never have to leave this side of the state to see an artist once this venue is complete.

Big Boy Possible Location For Soccer Stadium

FOX17 reported that the former location of the Big Boy on Pearl Street property has been donated for the location of the proposed new soccer stadium. This project is said to possibly cost $408 million. Hopefully, some of that will be spent building some parking spots the city desperately needs.
