New, From-Scratch Breakfast Restaurant Opens in Allendale

A new joint serving up omelets, benedicts, waffles, pancakes, and more is now open in Allendale!

The Nest Egg Cafe is located at 6101 Lake Michigan Dr. and has been its soft opening phase for a few weeks.

Co-owners Tony Palushaj and Antonio Mhilli are focused on making their dishes from scratch.

Palushaj tells Wood TV 8,

(The) industry as a whole has become so processed. It’s become so instant, everything is just so instant. And so we take pride in making everything here from scratch. Our chicken is marinated. We buy the best chicken and we marinate it ourselves with old recipes. I don’t know how old my grandmother’s recipe (is). It’s got to be 80, 90 years old or maybe even older.

On the menu you'll find TONS of egg dishes. You can get eggs cooked how you like in a variety of combinations - with toast, hash browns, bacon, ham sausage, biscuits and gravy, chicken breast, or pancakes.

There's also a breakfast burrito, omelets, crab cake benedict, loaded grits, house-made corn beef hash, oatmeal, avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches, and tacos.

You'll have the option to load up your pancakes, French Toast, or Belgian Waffles with tons of toppings like strawberries, bananas, chocolate chips, blueberries, Nutella - even vanilla ice cream!

The restaurant's current hours are Monday through Saturday 7a.m. to 2p.m.

According to Wood TV 8, the owners are planning on a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony in the coming weeks.
