It's always sad to see a local restaurant close. A few months ago we told you that a family with a 70-year legacy of pizza in West Michigan was closing one of their restaurants. Well, we now know what will be opening in its place!

In 1949 the late Cosimo (Gus) Fricano, founded what some believe to be the first pizzeria in Michigan, Fricano's Pizza Tavern, in Grand Haven.

Since then, different family members have opened multiple locations across West Michigan. Phil Fricano opened a restaurant in Alamo in the late 1970s. Along with his wife Chris, he opened a second location at 107 E Main St SE in Caledonia in 2013.

In January, the owners shared that the Caledonia location would be closing, as they planned to retire. The other Fricano's Pizza locations will continue on - and the good news is that a new restaurant is moving in to where Fricano's in Caledonia used to be!

According to posts to social media, Rossana's Table is moving in at 107 E. Main St.

Earlier this year, Monique Rodriguez, Middleville native and owner of Caledonia Dance & Music Center shared she's be opening a new restaurant at the former Fricano's Pizza.

I'm thrilled to share that I have recently acquired a restaurant that holds a significant place in Caledonia's heritage. I'm proud to carry on that legacy while paying honor to my grandmother Rossana "Nonna"... Nonna's kitchen and her table were always a hub of unity, cherished memories, and familial love... This new restaurant will feature many of the things this lovely and elegant Roman Italian lady resembled... I am excited and honored to welcome you to Rossana's Table!

While a menu for Rossana's Table has yet to be revealed, a few items have been given a sneak peek.

It appears Rossana's Table is getting closer to opening! The restaurant is now hiring cooks, servers, bartenders, and more. Those who are interested can apply here.
