Sherrod arrived at Fox 17 two years ago on February 28, 2022.

She posted on her Facebook Page:

Hello West Michigan,
Excited to OFFICIALLY announce I am the newest member of the FOX 17 team in Grand Rapids, MI I’m looking forward to exploring the West side of the state, working with an amazing team, and being involved in this community

 

Before she joined Fox 17 in 2022, Sherrod spent four years in Flint/Saginaw as an anchor and reporter.

Sherrod, a Michigander from Detroit, discovered her passion for broadcasting when she was in high school.

Sherrod needed an elective, so she tried journalism which led to the opportunity to do the morning announcements, and she didn't look back after that.

Grand Rapids News Anchor Jamie Sherrod Is Done At Fox 17

On Tuesday, February 28, 2024 Sherrod took to social media and shared that her time at Fox 17 had come to an end saying

My time at FOX 17 has come to an end. I will miss my amazing coworkers and the incredible West Michigan community. Thank you to every organization and person I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with. This stop in my journey was a pleasant surprise that brought so many opportunities I’ll always be grateful for. I’ll definitely be back to visit (maybe not during Winter though) Much love West Michigan
