Over the 15 seasons that Shark Tank has been on the air, over 1,000 businesses have stepped into the tank to pitch their ideas to the entrepreneurs seats on the other side of the set from them, hoping to secure money in exchange for a part of the ownership of their business.

A Grand Rapids business took a dive into the shark tank with this week's episode, hoping to get a deal to bring their local business to the national spotlight.

On Friday March 22nd, Grand Rapid's own Murder Mystery Co. took to the tank to pitch their business to sharks Mark Cuban, Barbra Cochran, Lori Greiner, Kevin O'Leery and making a guest appearance Blumhouse Productions CEO, Jason Blum. Hoping to take his West Michigan business from local to national with their help

Scott Crampton brought his Grand Rapids-business to the shark tank hoping to find someone to help continue to grow his company, Murder Mystery Co, which hosts private Murder Mystery parties as well as public events.

The Grand Rapids troupe isn't the only one, either. They have 23 troupes around the country and do around 7,500 shows a year.

Scott told the sharks that while his business was booming with local appearances before the pandemic, but they had to take a pause when things shut down around the country. He showed up looking for $350,000 for a 5% stake in his company, with hopes to relaunch their public ticketed events and get them into venues to host their events.

Early into his pitch, Jason Blum immediately got interested in Murder Mystery Co., offering the originally asked for $350,000 for a 10% share in the company, to which the other sharks immediately jumped out of the way, realizing that his expertise in everything horror made him the perfect partner for this entrepreneur.

Scott psyched everyone out by replying with "Can I counter"..., and was immediately cut off by Mark Cuban who warned him not to walk away even though the offer was for more than he asked. That's when Scott pointed out that his intended counter offer was just for a happy dance and a yes to Jason's 10% proposal.
