You have to watch everyone else get flower deliveries, gush about presents, and post their fancy plates while you scoop up day after deals and pretend not to be bitter that you didn't have plans.

But, if you're single in Michigan, you shouldn't feel lonely. Two different sources are showing that Michigan is made for lonely hearts rather than lovers.

One Michigan city made the top ten for most singles in the US

Detroit is for people looking for lovers. because they just barely made it to number 10 in the US for most singles.

Now, while that doesn't prove that you'll find a quality person to date. It means that your odds are better at meeting a cute single bartender, versus watching everyone else being cuffed up on cupid's big day.

Although, according to that same survey it seems most of the single people in the US aren't looking to mingle. They say that 69% of single people are content with their independence, versus 31% who are still actively looking for love anywhere they can find it.

Meanwhile, the state of Michigan is in the top half of the US when it comes to being single. According to Wallethub, Michigan is the 20th best state to live in for singles. While we don't have the largest pool of single people, we ranked 14th on best for "romance and fun", which makes it easier to find some cute date idea in the mitten.

So, don't be discouraged if you're feeling lonely on Valentine's Day. Your odds are great to find that special someone by next year when cupid comes back around.
