This week we're featuring the Humane Society favorite, Bubbles! I talked with Brianna from the Humane Society about Bubbles who entered into their care covered in tumors and is looking for a hospice home where she can spend the rest of her days in comfort, getting all the love she deserves!

Bubbles arrived at one of HSWMI's partner shelters who then transferred her to West Michigan for ongoing care. Bubbles was covered in lumps and bumps that turned out to be 30+ mast cell tumors! While common and removable, mast cell tumors are very invasive and can spread. Due to the amount covering her whole body, surgical excision is unfortunately not an option for Bubbles, so she was seen by an oncologist for ongoing treatment. The oncologist believes she likely only has 3-18 months left to live and we want to be sure she lives life to the fullest until then!

Ongoing care may include her oral medications, but it should be discussed with the oncologist, adopter, and their primary veterinarian. Due to the nature of mast cell tumors, Bubbles has not been spayed as HSWMI didn't want to introduce any tumors into her abdomen at the risk of making her more sick.

Bubbles would like to be your spoiled baby and live out her remaining life as the only animal in the home.

If you'd like to love on Bubbles for the time she has left, please submit an adoption survey for her on the Humane Society's website at hswestmi.org/adoptabledogs
