If you're wanting to have a ceremony and throw a reception, that takes months, sometimes years of planning, depending on your choices. Venues book up well in advance, there's a whole menu to plan, a great number of guests to account for, and let's not forget about the dress!

And since wedding's in Michigan are pretty darn expensive, averaging well over $20,000, the name of the game is saving money.

With that in mind, WalletHub did the dirty work and looked at cities coast-to-coast to see which were the best to get married in for 2024.

The Best Cities in America to Get Married

To determine a ranking among 182 cities, WalletHub looked at these key factors:

  • Costs - cost of wedding, hotel room, and more
  • Facilities & Services - wedding chapels and venues per capita, videographers and photographers per capita, hotels per capita, and more
  • Activities & Attractions - number of attractions, foodie-friendliness, weather, and more

After looking at those factors and giving a rank to 182 different American cities, only one Michigan city made it high enough on the list to be considered a "good city" to get married in;

On the list of 182, Grand Rapids comes in at number 43, averaging well in all three categories.

  • 62 for facilities & services
  • 77 for activities & attractions

If you decide to look at Grand Rapids for a wedding, one cool venue there is this one;

Leona Road in Grand Rapids

Return to Boblo Island! Stay at This Stunning Airbnb on the Historic Island
