Hamm was telling Fallon about his filming in Detroit, and how “strange” it was being in the "D" during the pandemic and election day. During the discussion he took the time to tell everyone Detroit is a great place to visit.

"We all stayed in a hotel in Downtown Detroit,” Hamm said. “And, by the way, Detroit: If you get the chance, go visit. It’s a very cool city. I’ve never been, it was my first time, and it was super awesome.”

Hamm was in town shooting the crime thriller No Sudden Move. He and the other cast members, that included Brendan Fraser, Kieran Culkin, Matt Damon, Benicio Del Toro, and Don Cheadle, all stayed in Detroit. During down time they had a chance to enjoy some of real “ Detroit”  including the food.

“The coney dogs, man,” he said . “I definitely, I visited Lafayette coney dogs…American and Lafayette, they share a wall…I went to Lafayette coney dogs with Cheadle.”

Host Jimmy Fallon even weighed in on Detroit’s great coney dogs during the show, reflecting on his time in Detroit while filming 2009’s Whip It.
