Lake Michigan Water Temp Dips Again

Ironically, the further north you go, the warmer the big lake gets. 

High winds from the north west continue to play havoc with beach goers along the West Michigan shoreline.

not only are the winds creating rip currents at times, they are also mixing up the water, once again bringing up cold water from the depths of the lake and distributing it along the surface.

Grand Haven State Park saw the biggest dip yesterday dropping from a manageable 63 degrees to a bone chilling 43 degrees, opening up the possibility of hypothermia to anyone staying in the water long enough. Ouch! You better bring the wet suit!

The good news is the further north you go, the warmer the Lake Michigan temps get.

The winds will continue to kick up today, especially north of Ludington where unsafe rip currents will be popping up.
